Dr. Alphonsus Neba & Prof. Olubayi meet IDeAL Fellows

The Developing Excellence in Leadership, Training, and Science in Africa (DELTAS Africa) Programme Manager, Dr. Alphonsus Neba, today visited IDeAL’s host institution, KEMRI – Wellcome Trsut, to meet up with the fellows who included the Postgradute Diploma Fellows, Masters Students, PhD Students, and Postdoctoral Fellows. The visit is part of DELTAS Africa’s commitment to continually engage its fellows with the aim of ensuring its goal of producing a generation of scientists that will play a major role in shaping and driving locally relevant health research agenda in Africa is met.

His visit was also accompanied by that of  Maarifa Education’s Prof. Olubayi Olubayi, who is one of the PhD Students’ Career Mentoring Committee Members, others being APHRC’s Dr. Evelyn Gitau, Strathmore University’s Prof. Gilbert Kokwaro, and Pwani University’s Prof. Kahindi.

The two took time to meet the fellows in breakout sessions for holistic discussions around various aspects of research career progression and available opportunities with an overarching emphasis of the need to building collaborations and networks.
