On October 9th, 2025, the Training Department and the IDeAL Initiative proudly marked the graduation of 29 Postgraduate Diploma students in Research Methods at Pwani University. This milestone reflects IDeAL’s enduring commitment to strengthening research capacity and nurturing the next generation of African scientists.
Among the graduating cohort, five fellows were supported through IDeAL’s strategic partnership with the African Leadership and Mentoring Academy (ALMA), underscoring the Initiative’s dedication to fostering collaborative pathways that advance research excellence across the continent. The programme continues to serve as a vital platform for equipping emerging researchers with the methodological skills and academic grounding necessary to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s scientific landscape.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the supervisors whose mentorship has been instrumental in guiding the fellows through their academic journey. Their dedication exemplifies the spirit of shared learning and professional growth that defines the programme.
We also acknowledge the Science for Africa Foundation for its steadfast support in enhancing research capacity. Through such partnerships, IDeAL remains committed to cultivating a vibrant and skilled research community capable of addressing Africa’s most pressing health and development challenges.
Congratulations to the graduates on this achievement, and we look forward to their continued contributions to science and society.
