My name is Garka Mahamadou Rabi, and I am a trained biomedical laboratory professional with extensive experience in laboratory techniques and a growing passion for public health research. I hold a diploma as a Laboratory Technician and Laboratory Assistant from the National School of Public Health (ENSP) in Niamey. During my undergraduate training, I completed a research thesis on the “Study of Intestinal Parasitic Infections among Talibé Children” (Ref.: 75/2009M – Library Code), a topic that deepened my interest in the health of vulnerable populations.
Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in public health at the African University of Social, Technical, and Medical Sciences (UASTM) in Niamey, supported by a scholarship from the IDeAL program. My master’s research focuses on “Epidemiological and clinical aspects of bacterial resistance to beta-lactam and quinolone antibiotics in hospital settings in Niger.” This project reflects my dedication to addressing antimicrobial resistance, one of the most urgent public health issues today.
To further improve my skills, I have completed several specialized training courses offered by the Global Health Training Center, focusing on laboratory practices and the protection of human subjects in clinical research. These experiences have not only broadened my technical knowledge but also strengthened my ethical awareness in biomedical research.
