Felix Maingi

PhD Fellow, KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme

Felix Maingi is a Kenyan-born biomedical research scientist with a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Nairobi, Kenya. His graduate studies were partially supported by the Dissertation Research Internship Programme (DRIP) at the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE). He holds an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Prior to his PhD, Felix worked as a Bioinformatician at Connect Afya Medlynks Kenya. His PhD research focuses on integrating multi-omics datasets to investigate the unresolved systemic biological pathways that persist in children following an acute episode and how these dysregulations impact growth. This work aims to generate new mechanistic insights and identify potential therapeutic targets to support improved recovery and catch-up growth in affected children.
