Abdoul Razak LOUKOUMANE Amina
PhD Fellow, Epicentre, Niger
I am currently a PhD fellow under the IDeAL programme, investigating how nutritional status influences the incidence of bacterial meningitis and antibiotic resistance in children aged 0 to 5 years attending health facilities in Niger.
I hold a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition from Abdou Moumouni University, where I developed a strong interest in the intersection between nutrition and infectious diseases. My research journey began at the Medical and Health Research Center (CERMES), where I supported national COVID-19 response efforts and contributed to influenza virus surveillance, before focusing on bacteriology.
Driven by rigor, curiosity, and a deep commitment to improving child health in the Sahel region, I strive to advance scientific understanding and inform policy through evidence-based research. I am proficient in statistical tools such as Epi Info and fluent in French and Zarma. I welcome collaborative opportunities that support both academic growth and impactful public health outcomes.
