Masters in Immunology Fellow
I am an MSc Immunology student at Pwani University, sponsored by IDeAL (Initiative to Develop African Leaders) at the Kemri-Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Kenya. I hold a BSc in Medical Biochemistry from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (2021). Previously, I gained skills in computational biology during a bioinformatics internship at ICIPE under the EANBIT program and developed laboratory expertise in molecular biology and immunology while working as an Assistant Research Officer at the Kemri-Wellcome Trust. My current MSc research aims to identify the proteome of blood extracellular vesicles and plasma associated with the risk of death in severely malnourished children post-discharge. My long-term goal is to apply modern immunology and genomics to define therapeutic targets for infectious and non-infectious diseases. As an aspiring researcher, I seek to contribute to disease research that improves healthcare for communities worldwide.
